Christina More was the third child and second daughter born to Andrew Robert More and Jeanette Allan Weir. She was born near Hamilton, Scotland in Larnarkshire County on March 20, 1843.

At the age of seven, she made the trip to America with her parents and four siblings on the ship "Liberty". They arrived in New York City on July 13, 1850. After a few years in Waukesha County, Wisconsin and a few more in Jefferson County, Wisconsin - her family left for Minnesota in the spring of 1858 when she was 15 years old. The left in a covered wagon and arrived in the late spring to Pilot Grove Township in Faribault County, Minnesota.

On the 1860 Federal Census, she was living in Pilot Grove Township with her parents and six siblings. She was age 17 and doing domestic work.

At age 17, she married on January 7, 1861 to Ferdinand Wilhelm Manthie (1836 - 1863). He immigrated from Prussia (Germany) in 1856. He worked as farm labor in Faribault County, Minnesota and was doing such on the 1860 Federal Census. The next year, they had a son (Frederick Harmon Manthie). Later their last name was spelled as Manther.

When the Indian Wars broke out, Christina's husband enlisted on November 10, 1862 with the voluntary infantry Company K Mounted Rangers or Calvary. He was a Private. He died while in service at St Peter, Minnesota of disease on March 23, 1863 at the age of 26. He was buried at Immanuel Methodist Church Cemetery near Blue Earth, Minnesota. As a result, Christina was a widow with a small infant after only two years of marriage.

On September 15, 1867, Christina remarried to Daniel "Donald" McLeod (1846 - 1927). He was from Quebec, Canada and was a farmer in Faribault County as well. On the 1870 Federal Census, Christina was living next door to her parents in Pilot Grove Township. Her husband was a farmer and with them was their daughter, Nettie 2. Her son at age 8 was living with his grandfather, Andrew, in his household.

On the 1870 non-census schedule, Christina and her husband had 63 acres with only 17 acres of improved land that raised oats and Indian corn. They had no horses, 2 milk cows, 2 working oxen, 2 other cattle, and 2 swine.

They remained on their small farm and were found there on the 1880 Federal Census in Pilot Grove Township. Her husband was listed as a farmer and with them in the household were five children (Nettie 12, James 7, Ruth 5, Russell 2, and Elizabeth 3 months). Christina's older son, Fred 20, was still in the household of his grandfather, Andrew, and helping on their farm.

They were still in Pilot Grove farming on the 1900 Federal Census and living next door to her older brother, Robert, and his family. With them was their youngest daughter, Elizabeth 20. This census indicates that Christina has given birth to six children and all were still living at that time. Her parents both died the next couple of years in 1902 and 1903.

On the 1910 Federal Census, Christina and her husband had moved to the city of Blue Earth, Minnesota, and her husband was said to be retired.

On the 1920 Federal Census, Christina was 76 years old and she and her husband were living in the city of Blue Earth, Minnesota living on Main Street and they owned their own home.

Christina More McLeod died on July 16, 1926 at age 83 in Blue Earth, Minnesota. She was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Her husband died the next year at age 81 on November 5, 1927, and was buried next to her in Riverside Cemetery. He died in Everett, Snohomish County, Washington, where their three daughters were living at the time.
