After her husband Harold's death, Kathleen married his nephew, Calvin "Buddy" Miller.

Kathleen Jeanette "Kat" Strunk Miller, 78 years of age, of Ferguson, Kentucky, departed this life and entered through Heaven's Gates on Sunday, November 17th, 2013.

Kat was born on August 14th, 1935, daughter of Leo and Mable Strunk. She grew up in Junction City, Kentucky, and loved her childhood there. She attended Pulaski County High School and graduated with the Class of 1954. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and had an unwavering faith in God. She was an amazing homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and singing. In the last few years, she walked at Rocky Hollow and was part of the YMCA water aerobics classes. She was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church where she had great enjoyment from the Seniors Program and the fellowship.

Kat was survived by one daughter, Paula Jean (and Rex) Barker of Richmond, Kentucky; one son, Douglas Ray (and Shawnda) Miller of Frankfort, Kentucky; two stepsons, Calvin "Tiger" (and Susan) Miller and Ronnie Miller, both of Somerset, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Thomas Rex Barker, Jenna Kathleen (and Russell) Sells, Aaron Douglas Miller, and Micah Calvin Miller; two great grandchildren, Kaylee Jean Sells and Ashlynn Isabella Sells; one brother, Roger (and Diana) Strunk of Eubank, Kentucky; one sister, Vicki (and Tony) Ashley of Somerset, Kentucky; and a host of extended family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Mable Strunk. She was widowed in 1970 by her first husband, Harold C. Miller; and was married for 22 years to her second husband, Calvin "Buddy" Miller, until his death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Louise Strunk, Anna Marie Strunk, and Joy Strunk Mayfield.

Visitations were held on Thursday, November 21st, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 21st, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Stacey of Buena Vista Baptist Church officiating.

Her pallbearers were: Thomas Barker, Aaron Miller, Micah Miller, Michael Mayfield, Bobby Mayfield, and Alan Mayfield.

Interment followed in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, Kentucky.

If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear, Though you may not understand why I'm no longer there. Remember my spirit, that is the real me because I'm still very much alive, I've just been set free. Oh, if you could only see!

I have held our Father's face and I've touched my Savior's hand. All of Heaven's angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land. Beyond the gates of pearl I've walked on the golden streets.

I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the crystal sea. The beauty is beyond words and nothing could compare, I've even seen our Lords mansion and someday I'll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because "His Word" will show you the way. So please don't cry because we will meet again someday.
