Frederick Cody Norris Jr. passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the age of 83. He was born on September 26, 1927 in Gross, KA, to the late Frederick Sr. and Jessie Norris. Directly out of high school Frederick joined the U.S. Navy, and served in the later days of WWII, the Korean Conflict and in peace time. He retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, and came back to continue his service as a civilian instructor to the Navy. Just over 19 years ago he left the Northern Illinois area and moved to the Lake County where he attended services at St. Paul's Catholic Church, and worked on the crew that brings the televised services from church on the CCTN. Fred was a member of the Lake County Honor Guard, and a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Fred was quite a dancer and traveled around to various competitions. He is survived by his wife, Helen Norris of Leesburg, FL, three daughters, Laura (Richard) Kuhlman, Teresa (Pat) Topping, and Kerri Vaugh; two step-sons: Robert (Candi) Myslinski and Richard (Debra) Myslinski, and two step-daughters, Linda (Mac) Fout and Katheryne Schmidt. Fred is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Charleen Rowe, Mary Whiteaker, and Ruby Minnix. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Laura Yvonne Norris; a son, Frederick Joseph Norris, and a daughter, Jacie Limbers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church with Fr. John Giel officiating. Visitation will be at the Page-Theus Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will take place on Wednesday in Florida National Cemetery.
