He was born in Zion, IL where he was raised and graduated from Zion-Benton High School in 1956. Mr. Scaccia was a lifelong resident of Lake County and was employed at the Lake Forest Post Office from 1968 to 1996 and was also a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed listening, singing and playing music, especially the trumpet and bass fiddle, playing with a band that played at weddings and restaurants. Mr. Scaccia loved spending time with his grandchildren as they were the joy of his life and will be missed by all his family. Surviving are his wife, Gabrielle Scaccia of Libertyville; a daughter, Veronica (Bruce) Karp of Wheeling; a son, Frank (Robert Yarnall) Scaccia of New York; 2 grandchildren, Benjamin & Emily Karp; a brother, Joel (Lamona) Scaccia of Lexington, KY; 3 sisters, Yolanda (Dennis) Moore of Kaufman, TX, Francine Scaccia-DeCajar of Hawaii and Eva (Lee) McCormack of Zion and also by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eva Scaccia and also by a sister, Yvonne Norris in 1980.
