George Harold More was the oldest child and only son born to Andrew Russell More (1866 - 1912) and Alberta Luella Moore (1868 -1928). George was born on September 15, 1890 on the family farm in Pilot Grove Township, Faribault County, Minnesota. As a young man growing up on the farm, he worked closely with his father and learned from him. This was very valuable to him since his father died in 1912 and George took over the farm and responsibilities for his siblings and his mother.

Two years later, on October 1, 1914, George married Alice Margaret Lowery (August 25, 1895 -March 24, 1966) in Elmore, Minnesota. George and Alice More had five children (Bonna, Ross, Jean, Joyce, and Hazel).

George farmed all his life on the family farm known as Fairview Stock Farm. The farm was a model farm for raising livestock, and that was George's specialty. He loved the cattle business and he fed out many steers each year, and always enjoyed his trips to South Saint Paul Stockyards. He also had model swine facilities, and raised many pigs each year as well.

George was also involved in local politics, and served as County Commissioner for Faribault County for many years, and was involved in that role working when he died. George was very proud of his heritage and that his ancestors were among the first to settle in Pilot Grove Township, and he stayed active in the Pilot Grove Scotish Clan. He served as its' President from 1943 - 1948. Those that knew him, know that he enjoyed a good cigar and liked to relax in his home with one of his favorite pipes.

George died at age 66 at the Faribault County Courthouse in Blue Earth, Faribault County, Minnesota on March 4, 1957. He was buried at Riverview Cemetery near Elmore, Minnesota -
not far from his parents gravesites. His beloved Alice, passed away on March 24, 1966 and is buried at his side at Riverview Cemetery.
