Jean Alice More was the middle child, and one of four daughters of George Harold More (1890 -1957) and Alice Margaret Lowery (1895 - 1966). Jean was born in Pilot Grove Township, Faribault County, Minnesota on January 27, 1919. She attended country schools, and graduated from Elmore High School in 1937. Following High School, she owned and operated J's Dress Shop with her sister, Joyce. It was located on Main Street in Elmore, Minnesota.

On June 1, 1941, Jean married Willard "Butch" Madetzke (3/14/1918 - 3/20/2008) in Pilot Grove Township. Jean and Willard had three children (Ronald, Carna, and Merna).

For many years, Jean and Willard farmed in the Elmore area - not far from where the original More immigrants settled when they first arrived to Faribault County. Jean also worked at Elmer's Super Value for 17 years as bookkeeper and checker. After jean and Willard retired, she continued to work at the grocery store and later at Central Graphics in Blue Earth. In her later years, she also worked at McDonalds to occupy her time.

Jean and Willard loved to dance and belonged to the Polka Club of America, and danced all over the Country - and appeared numerous times on the Band Wagon TV show. She also enjoyed gardening and was very involved in the Methodist Church in Blue Earth.

Jean passed away on October 28, 2002 at age 81, and was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth, Faribault County, Minnesota. Willard passed away on March 20, 2008 and is buried at her side.
