osiah helped to guard prisoners taken at the surrender of Cornwallis during the American Revolution.
He made application for pension on 18 Nov., 1833 and was residing in Pulaski Co., Ky at that time. The application shows that he was a resident of Montgomery County., Maryland, when he entered the service in March of 1780. He served under Capt. John Nichols and Lt. Thomas Nichols for 9 months and was 72 years old when he applied for his pension. Pension record Rev. War S 31 004. He is listed in the DAR Patriot Index 1966 on page 211.
