Grandparents: Matthias Chitwood, Sr. (1681 England - 1754 Cumberland now Powhatan County, VA) and Mary Key (May 12, 1695 Northumberland County, VA - Jan 27, 1755 Cumberland now Powhatan County, VA). Private James Chitwood served in the American Revolution. Thanks to those who provided and placed this nice stone for my 6th Gr-Grandfather. It is greatly appreciated by me and the legions of descendants. - Frank Merriman Inscription 163 James Chitwood and Wife Martha White. He was the third child of Richard and Winney Chitwood. B.
