Gabrielle M. Scaccia, 73, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at her home in Grayslake. She was born September 29, 1942 in Bethlehem, Palestine, lived in Brazil for several years, and came to live in the United States in 1956. She was a 1960 Graduate of Zion Benton High School, started her college education at the College of Lake County, received a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Illinois University, and an MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
Gabrielle began her career at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, Illinois where she worked for over 30 years. In 1994, she established her own medical records consulting business. She enjoyed being of service to and volunteering her time with various business and healthcare organizations. Gabrielle was a member of the St. Joseph Church in Libertyville where she was active in CHRP.
She is survived by her daughter, Veronica (Bruce) Karp of Wheeling; her son, Frank Scaccia of New York, NY; two grandchildren, Benjamin, and Emily Karp; two brothers, George (Ailta) Orfali of Houston, TX, John (Mary) Orfali of Oakland, CA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins across the globe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank G. Scaccia in 2009; by her parents, Jacob and Stephanie Orfali and by her brother Sebastian Orfali.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple Ave. Libertyville. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 9 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.) Libertyville. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
