Andrew Russell More was the oldest of five sons born to Robert Thomas More (1839 - 1928) and Elizabeth Churchill Rendall (1846 - 1927). Andrew was born on October 23, 1866 at the family farm in Pilot Grove Township, Faribault County, Minnesota.

One point of confusion on Andrew was that his grandfather and uncle were also named Andrew R More. The grandfather Andrew was Andrew Robert More, who came with part of his family from Scotland to America in 1850 on the ship - Liberty. Andrew Robert More had a son, who was Andrew Robert More, Jr, and he lived at the same time period as our Andrew in this write-up, and he lived in the same area. However, he outlived Andrew Russell More and did not die until 1932. As a result, many family researchers have often mixed the two up and have vital records incorrect on research of the family.

Since Andrew Russell More died at a fairly young age, there is not a lot that is known about him. He farmed on the family farm, and like his father, was said to be very good with livestock. His father came from Scotland as a boy, and the family learned to farm when they were in America as that was not their vocation in Scotland.

Andrew married Alberta Luella Moore on November 12, 1889.
