Bonna Mae More was the oldest child of George Harold More (1890 - 1957) and Alice Margaret Lowery (1895 -1966). She was born on September 17, 1915 in Pilot Grove Township, Faribault County, Minnesota. She attended country schools, and then graduated from Elmore High School in 1932 at age 16. After graduation, she attended Brady and Rogers Beauty School in the Twin Cities. She, then, had her own Beauty Shop on Main Street in Elmore, Minnesota. On October 4, 1935, Bonna married Alfred Charles Rhoda (6/29/1908 -10/3/1986). They had three children (Reta, Elton, and Ramon).
Bonna and Alfred farmed for many years on their farm on the east edge of Elmore. Bonna was much involved on the farm with milking chores and her chickens. In addition, for several summers, Bonna worked at the Green Giant Canning Factory in Blue Earth during the corn pack. She also worked at candling eggs, and later worked at a local grocery store in Elmore, Minnesota.
Her husband, Alfred, passed away on October 3, 1986, and was buried at Riverview Cemetery near Elmore, Minnesota. After Alfred passed away, Bonna lived in Elmore near the Elmore Municipal Building, and later resided at St Luke's Home in Blue Earth, where she passed away on March 11, 2002 at age 86. She was buried at Riverview Cemetery along side her husband, Alfred.
