Ross Andrew More was one of five children, and the only son of George Harold More (1890 - 1957) and Alice Margaret Lowery (1895 - 1966). He was born on June 19, 1917 in Pilot Grove Township, Faribault County, Minnesota. He attended rural schools as a youngster, and graduated from Elmore High School in 1936.
Following High School, he attended the University of Minnesota Agricultural School. He then farmed with his father, and eventually took over the family farm. Ross served in the US Army during World War II, and after his discharge, came home to the farm. One of his fun activities was flying. He had his own airplane and hangar on the farm - and enjoyed this passion for many years. This provided a first time experience of flying for many of his siblings, nieces and nephews.

On December 28, 1956, Ross married Merrian Harriet Gestie Flo, a widow with four children (Ronald, Carrol, Susan, and Becky) at the Little Brown Church in Nassua, Iowa. He helped raise Merrian's three youngest children.

Ross farmed for himself, and later for others until he retired in 1974, and they moved to Blue Earth. Ross was on the Town Board for 28 years, was a Deacon in his church, and a member of the American Legion for 43 years. He died on November 7, 1987 at age 70 at Blue Earth, Faribault County, Minnesota, and was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Merrian died on October 27, 2013 at Blue Earth, Minnesota.
