Wayne Everett Hanna was the oldest son of Elizabeth Winifred Jessie More (1897 -1965) and Arnold Herman Hanna (1898 -1948). Wayne was born in Pilot Grove Township, Faribault County, Minnesota on January 10, 1923. Wayne attended schools in Blue Earth, Minnesota. He served in the US Army during World War II in Europe. He received the Purple Heart award for his actions. After his discharge, he married Lillian Ella Weyhrauch (8/14/1929) on August 8,1948, and later divorced. They had two children (Sharon and Les).

On April 12, 1975, Wayne married Dorothy Louise Hahn Ficken (4/25/1921 - 8/26/2008). Wayne worked as a carpenter and builder for the city of Blue Earth, a local lumber yard, and a local construction company. Wayne retired in 1982.

Wayne passed away on July 11, 1997 at age 74 in Blue Earth, Faribault County, Minnesota. He was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. His wife, Dorothy, passed away on August 26, 2008, and is also buried at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth.
