Charles was actually Mary and James' nephew (the actual son of Susan and Henry Harding), who they took over the care of in July, 1890 after the death of his mother Susan, when he was 6 months old.
During WW1 he was a 2nd Lieutenant in the field artillery, and last lived in Ephrata, WA

He has a duplicate record under his mother Susan.
