Dwight was one of five sons born to Charles and Agnes (Ogilvie) Rendall. He married Laura Ethel Ankeny on February 28, 1912, and they farmed in Prescott township most of their lives. They had three children (Gladys, Agnes, and Marvel).

NOTE: some records have his name as William Dwight (as on his Draft registration card), but his headstone has Dwight W. Seems like he couldn't make up his mind, as these are his census entries:
