When Joyce was 7, her father died, and a year later her mom was killed in a car accident. She (age 8) and sister Carol (5) were then raised by their uncle Erwin and Aunt Ethel. That was right about the time that Erwin and Ethel's firstborn, Ron, was born. NOTE, Arthur Benson Rendall, in his writing, "Six Generations in My Life Time", states on page 3 that the 2 sisters were raised by his mom (Evangeline Rendall)
