Graduated Zion Benton High School 1945. He was an enthusiastic Green Bay Packer fan. Claire served in the Merchant Marines, National Guard and enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War.

While stationed in Ft. Worth Texas he met Wildena Bearden, right then they clicked and soon married. He was employed by Tangley Oaks/United Educators, Lake Bluff, IL. Claire was a loving, caring, generous, and supportive family man. He was a life long member of the Meadowridge Baptist Church in Zion, serving as a Deacon, building committee member, Treasurer, numerous committees and various responsibilities.
